Getting Started with Zation

updated on 24 September 2024

Welcome to an all-in-one platform for managing your communities, student organizations, associations, and nonprofits. Let's cover all the things you need to know to start exploring and making the most out of Zation.

Create your zation

In Zation, everything happens within a "zation"—your virtual hub for managing groups, communities, and organizations. When you first sign in, you'll be prompted to create your initial zation by providing its name, size, and other key details. Next, grant Zation the necessary permissions to connect to your spreadsheet, where all membership, event, and form data will be securely stored, giving you complete control over your information.

For more details, refer to our Privacy Policy

You can create additional zations anytime and manage multiple ones simultaneously, switching between them with ease.

Working with MemberId's

Member IDs uniquely identify each member within your zation, enabling the platform to accurately track attendance, points, and leaderboard standings. To ensure a seamless experience, it’s important to use Member IDs effectively. Admins have the flexibility to decide what members will use as their Member IDs, making onboarding familiar and straightforward. After creating your zation, follow the prompts to set up and specify the Member IDs. Members will be asked to enter their IDs when checking in to events or filling out forms.

Add Members

To start adding members to your zation, create a custom membership form that can be sent out for members to complete, allowing them to join your organization. When creating forms on Zation, some fields are automatically included by default—feel free to modify these as needed. However, keep in mind that if you remove the Member ID field, member points won't be tracked for that form.

Create Events

To start organizing events for your community, head to the Events tab. Each event you create comes with an auto-generated check-in page that you can share with members to track attendance. When setting up the event, specify the point value it carries—everyone in attendance will automatically have their points updated, and the leaderboard will reflect these changes.
